VeRonica Mitchell is a Lead Integration Engineer for General Motors with responsibility for managing vehicle mass (weight) performance on compact cross-over vehicles, serves as the primary Mass Engineering interface to the platform team, and provides mass engineering support to the C14x and GMT311 programs.  She recently succeeded in implementing vehicle mass reduction ideas and designs in the vehicle programs that she works with, including the mass reduction solutions on the GMT319 (Saturn Vue).  Her participation in co-publishing juried technical papers for the Society of Automotive Engineers is another example of her automotive knowledge and expertise.
 
Her previous positions include Senior Project Engineer for Vehicle Integration – Mass Integration Engineer and Computer Aided Engineering/Metal Forming – Formability Engineer.
Mitchell joined GM in 1994 as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in exterior polymer applications. She advanced through multiple manufacturing and product engineering positions before being promoted to Lead Validation Engineer in the structures and closures area.
 
In 2002, she moved to the General Motors Stamping organization and managed the design, construction, and validation of underbody and front end sheet metal tooling for midsize SUV products.  In 2006 she accepted her current assignment as Lead Mass Integration Engineer, working to optimize vehicle mass to promote improved Fuel Economy performance. 
 
In addition, her various engineering and leadership roles at GM in the areas of vehicle mass integration, body engineering, body structures, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), metal fabrication, and vehicle material recycling, all further expand Mitchell’s versatility and areas of expertise. 
 

She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1993, and an Executive Masters of Business Administration Degree in Leadership Studies from Baker Colleg
