As vice president of the EPIC Experience Team at Harman International, Chris Ludwig leads HARMAN’s innovation of the total in-car experience through sound, technology and design. Previously, he was chief engineer, Global Acoustic Systems, overseeing the global acoustic systems engineering team for automotive and leading the development of HARMAN’s world renowned in-vehicle branded audio sound signatures, including Mark Levinson, JBL, Infinity, Harman Kardon and Lexicon. In recognition of his leadership, innovation, and technical expertise, Ludwig was named HARMAN Distinguished Engineer, Global Acoustic Systems, in 2015. 

Prior to joining HARMAN, Ludwig spent a decade at Bose Corporation where he was responsible for North America and Japan automotive audio system design and tuning. While at Bose, he designed and tuned several groundbreaking car audio systems including the Studio on Wheels for the Infiniti G35 and the Bose Panaray System for the Cadillac CT6. 

Ludwig holds 31 patents covering acoustic innovations for Automotive Audio, User Experience and Graphical User Interface, and Surround Sound Signal Control. His projects, systems and experience concept work have been recognized as breakthroughs by leading technology, business and audio industry organizations. He is a musician with a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
