H. Leo Mehl retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1995 as General Manager-Worldwide Racing, but not before his leadership helped Goodyear become the world’s largest and most successful race tire manufacturer. A chemical engineer by training, Mehl’s work in developing tires for auto racing found him in fast company on some of the world’s fastest racetracks. His “retirement” ended recently when he became Vice President of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Executive Director of the Indy Racing League.
