John Reiss became President of the Gates Rubber Company in 1991, rising to the top after joining the company in 1966. Reiss developed a market research process that brings the voice of the customer to product design. He served several years as Chairman of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association, and is credited with helping to develop the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week parts show, now the world’s largest automotive parts show.
