On Wednesday February 17th, renowned automotive analyst John McElroy will be holding a special presentation at Automotive Hall of Fame. McElroy is the host of Autoline Daily and has appeared as an automotive expert on numerous television and radio news shows. His presentation, titled “How the Automobile Industry is about to turn upside down”, will highlight the enormous disruption facing the automotive industry in the coming decade.

GM chairman and CEO Mary Barra was recently quoted as saying”…I believe the industry will experience more change in the next 5 years than it has in the last 50 years.” The rise of mobility services, waning interest in car ownership from millennials, and continued development of autonomous vehicles have signaled a major shift in how the industry is going to operate in the future. Car and ride sharing are poised to reduce the number of vehicles needed on the road. McElroy asserts that the market is on the verge of a transformation where fewer people will buy or lease cars, and will instead buy their mobility through a third party. This shift in consumer behavior will have far-reaching effects on the automakers’ production output, product development strategy, and bottom lines.

The program will begin at 5:00 p.m. Cocktails will be served along with a strolling dinner. Tickets are available for $100 per person. To place a reservation, please RSVP by Wednesday February 10th. RSVP’s can be placed though meeting coordinators by phone at (248) 643-6590 or by email at autoline@meeting-coordinators.com
